Woodstock

Woodstock

It was my day off on Friday so I decided to go to Woodstock for the day. Known as a music festival more than a town, Woodstock is full of hippy culture from the ’60s and ’70s with a mix of more modern shops. I love the Beatles and rock music so this was a place for me to spend my day off.

The town has hung onto its roots by having stalls and shops selling souvenirs and clothing that was worn in the ’60 and ’70 with a small music festival still taking place. The buildings are decorated brightly and you can’t turn a corner without seeing a peace sign. I even saw “authentic” hippies in the town square taking pictures with people. It is also a great place for vegetarian and vegan food as most restaurants have followed tradition.

We spent about four and a half hours in the town which was more than enough although we didn’t eat a proper meal as we had to catch the bus. The weather was great luckily and it was a really relaxing, but the company was even better!

Blog soon,

Jamie.
